In the study, the effectiveness of an integrated care-contract according to §140a SGB V for cox- and gonarthrosisis is evaluated on the basis of a secondary data analysis and a survey of insured persons in two independent modules.

The object of the study is the testing and scientific monitoring of an interdisciplinary cooperation between general practitioners and specialists as well as physiotherapists for intensive care of patients with impending total hip or knee joint arthroplasty. Essential components of this form of care are specialist treatment through standardized diagnostics in line with guidelines, optimized drug therapy taking into account comorbidities and an intensified physiotherapeutic treatment program consisting of individual physiotherapy and personal exercises. The aim of this special care is to avoid operations through coordinated, intensified conventional therapy.
