Dear students,
In the winter semester 2025, all practical courses, seminars, and electives will take place in person. Please check Moodle and the respective timetables in good time for details on the formats of the lectures in Medical Sociology (1st year) and Prevention and Health Promotion (5th year), especially for sessions with external lecturers.
The introductory session for the Career Exploration Internship (BFE) will be held on 14 October 2025 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. in person in House 22 (ZH). The introductory session for Medical Sociology will be held on 15 October 2025 from 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. in person in House 28 (TH).
For the recognition of academic achievements, please follow the instructions of the Dean’s Office of Studies (SDEK) and the information provided on Moodle. As a rule, equivalency certificates in Medical Sociology are only issued in the case of a change of university within the course of medical studies.

In teaching, Prof. Apfelbacher and his colleagues cover the subjects social science, epidemiological, health system-related and health economics knowledge that is indispensable for the medical profession. Health economics is taught by Prof. Vogt and his staff. In addition, the Institute is involved in the development of innovative teaching projects to structure the practical phases in medical training.
